As many of you may already be aware, we recently underwent a makeover at XTRF. In fact, our new logo was revealed back in March at our online Summit.
However, this overhaul goes far beyond the aesthetics, with XTRF 9.0 bringing with it some brilliant new features to help you make the most out of our platform. In this blog post, you’ll find some more detailed information on the latest additions and how they can help you.
Signing in just got a whole lot easier
Want to have all your professional network destinations available via one access point? The good news is you can now add XTRF to the list.
By incorporating a new single sign-on feature into our platform we have not only simplified the login process, but streamlined workflows, and massively increased data safety. For example, users now only have to memorize one strong password as opposed to several.
Simply put, single sign-on (also referred to as SSO) is an authentication method that enables users to securely authenticate with multiple applications and websites by using just one set of credentials.
More CAT tools means more possibilities
Not only is signing in now a whole lot easier, but the plethora of translation tools that can be integrated into XTRF just got a whole lot bigger.
XTRF now fully supports memoQ 9.7, SDL Trados Studio 2021, and SDL Trados Groupshare 2020.
What does this mean for users? Well, the functionality of their workflows is set to increase given that more tasks will be able to be automated.
The only downside is that those users still working with older versions of these tools will be required to upgrade in order to continue receiving support. That said, they still have until the end of the year to come up with a solution that works for them, so there’s no rush.
XTRF Chat goes global
After an extremely successful initial rollout, XTRF Chat will soon be available to all users. This GDPR‑compliant messaging program offers efficient communication between clients and vendors and offers far more flexibility than traditional email.
What’s more, the recent addition of the Notifier helps you to keep tabs on important milestones and project deadlines. There are two types of notifications available depending on the user’s role.
The Notifier helps you to keep tabs on important milestones and project deadlines.
Managers, for example, will be notified about new projects or job completion. Vendors, on the other hand, will receive notifications about important changes to their projects they’re working on, and will also receive reminders about approaching or overdue deadlines.
Smart Projects just got even smarter
Last but certainly not least, XTRF 9.0 includes an upgrade to the platform’s Smart Projects capabilities.
The new live browsing features mean that you are now able to preview both 7z and ZIP files without actually having to download them to your computer. Not only does this save you time but it also helps to keep that downloads folder under control and prevents you from downloading unnecessary files.
Sounds too good to be true?
