What is XTRF Chat?
XTRF Chat is a dedicated chat space tailored to the translation and localization industry. A tool that can replace email with dedicated, real-time, personal, and group communication. Click HERE to read more about XTRF Chat.
XTRF Chat had a limited release with XTRF 8.8 and had been widely praised for smoothing out communication with project teams, streamlining the management process and saving a lot of time. Now we’re ready to bring it for everyone!
For current Chat users
With the release of XTRF 8.9, XTRF Chat will be enabled by default for every new Project and Quote.
The checkbox allowing to turn XTRF Chat on or off for individual Projects will be gone, as the testing period is concluded. Now XTRF Chat is ready to revolutionize communication in Projects in all of XTRF.
For new Chat users: how to enable XTRF Chat?
XTRF Chat, as a feature, is optional. To enable it, have the person responsible for your XTRF Platform send a request to XTRF Helpdesk.
XTRF Chat is entirely free for all XTRF license holders.
When XTRF Chat is enabled for your XTRF Platform, a corresponding XTRF Chat Workspace is created, and all new Projects and Quotes within the XTRF Platform will have Chat Rooms set up for them in the XTRF Chat Workspace automatically.
How to disable XTRF Chat?
If, by any chance, after testing XTRF Chat you still wish to disable it and stick to email or other means of communication, you’re allowed to do so. However disabling XTRF Chat is possible ONLY for the whole XTRF Platform, not individual Projects within the Platform.
To disable XTRF Chat, have the person responsible for your XTRF Platform send a request to XTRF Helpdesk.
Warning! If you consider disabling XTRF Chat, be aware of the following risk.
Disabling XTRF Chat results in breaking the link between your XTRF Platform and Chat Workspace. This cannot be undone. There is no option to restore communication from discontinued Workspaces in XTRF Chat.
How to re-enable XTRF Chat?
To turn XTRF Chat back on, have the person responsible for your XTRF Platform send a request to XTRF Helpdesk.
Turning XTRF Chat back on creates an entirely new XTRF Chat Workspace. All new Projects and Quotes within the XTRF Platform will have Chat Rooms set up for them in the XTRF Chat Workspace automatically.
